Mia Totten Earns All-Around Cowgirl Title

Mia Totten, first year (rookie) member of the Illinois Junior Rodeo Association competed in the District II two-day rodeo series in Monticello this past weekend.

The IJRA has three districts throughout Illinois with a two-day rodeo being held in each of the districts and a qualifying state finals held in August.

Totten competes in the K-2 division in the areas of Barrels, Pole Bending and Goat Flanking. At the conclusion of the two-day rodeo series, an awards ceremony is held for all individuals that earned top five in each of their divisions and an All-Around Cowgirl and All-Around Cowboy are named.

Totten, alongside her horse Hammer, earned Champion Goat Flanker, third place in Pole Bending, fifth place in Barrels and the coveted All-Around Cowgirl title. She received two belt buckles, a hay bag and a IJRA lettered brush.

Totten's next rodeo series will be held July 5-6 at the DuQuoin State Fairgrounds. Totten is the seven-year-old daughter of Ty and Mandy Totten.
