Four EHS Wrestlers Advance In Regionals

CARBONDALE -- Four Effingham High School wrestlers advanced from the Class 2A Regional at Carbondale Saturday.

Kendall Ballman advanced in the 145 pound division with three victories and a loss to finish third. He took a win with a pin in 4:33 before losing with a pin in 1:47. He took a 15-0 decision and finished out with a 7-2 decision.

Tyler Marschewski advanced at 160 pounds with two pins before losing to finish in second place. He won with pins in 1:26 and 3:20 before losing with a pin in 3:55.

Ethan Huss advanced with a third place finish at 285 pounds. He lost his opener then came back to capture two victories. He opened with a loss in 1:52. He then won with pins in 1:57 and 3:49.

Eric Sills advanced as an alternate after finishing fourth at 138 pounds.

The advancing wrestlers will compete in the Class 2A Sectional at Mahomet this Friday and Saturday.
