Edmonton Fires Coach Todd McLellan

For the second day in a row an NHL coach was fired as the Edmonton Oilers ousted Todd McLellan. Ken Hitchcock has come out of retirement to take over behind the bench after serving as a consultant for the team.


Capitals' Orpik Will Miss 4-6 Weeks

Washington Capitals defenseman Brooks Orpik has undergone arthroscopic surgery on his right knee and is expected to miss four to six weeks. Orpik hasn't played since October 27th and was placed on long-term injured reserve November 9th.


Bruins' Bergeron Out

The Boston Bruins say center Patrice Bergeron will be out for at least four weeks with an upper-body injury. The team says Bergeron suffered a rib and sternoclavicular injury during their game against the Stars on Friday.
