NHL Suspends Ottawa's Borowiecki

The NHL has suspended Ottawa Senators defenseman Mark Borowiecki for three games without pay for an illegal check to the head of Vegas Golden Knights forward Cody Eakin. Borowiecki was given a major penalty for charging, as well as a game misconduct.

Sharks Activate Thornton

The San Jose Sharks have activated center Joe Thornton from injured reserve. Thornton was placed on the injured list October 7 because of swelling in his surgically repaired right knee.
