Blaney Wins NASCAR Monster Cup Series

Ryan Blaney won the NASCAR Monster Cup Series race on the roval at Charlotte Motor Speedway when Jimmie Johnson crashed and took out leader Martin Truex Jr. on the last corner.

Johnson also knocked himself out of the playoffs, as he was eliminated along with Austin Dillon, Denny Hamlin and Erik Jones heading into the Round of 12.

Hamilton Wins Russian Grand Prix

Lewis Hamilton passed teammate Valtteri Bottas on team orders and won the Russian Grand Prix. Hamilton extended his lead in the championship standings to 50 points over Sebastian Vettel, who finished third.
