Brad Keselowski won the opening race of the NASCAR playoffs Sunday in Las Vegas. It was Keselowski’s third straight win and guarantees him a pass into the next round. The win was also the 500th overall for Team Penske.

Lewis Hamilton won the Singapore Grand Prix from the pole position. With the win, Hamilton extended his lead in the championship to 40 points over Sebastian Vettel, who finished third behind Red Bull's Max Verstappen.
