EHS Takes Fourth at Urbana Wrestling Invitational

URBANA -- Effingham High School did extremely well at the Urbana High School Tiger Wrestling Invitational Saturday. The Hearts finished fourth place as a team.

Brandon Marschewski took first place at 145 pounds and was also named Most Valuable Player for the 106-145 weight classes.

Marschewski pinned his first opponent in 3:56 then took a 5-2 decision. He then won with a pin in 3:42.

Tyler Marschewski finished in second place in the 160 pound class. He had a pin in 3:21 then fell in a 20-5 decision to take second.

Second also went to Jarrett Jones in the 170 pound class. Jones had a 6-2 win then fell 12-3 to take second.

Gage Franklin finished third in the 182 pound class. He fell in the opener with a pin in 4:37. He then downed his second opponent with a pin in :54. He fell in the third contest with a pin in 1:23. He finished third with a pin in 1:21.

Finishing in fourth place were Michael Taylor at 126 pounds, Zach Keitel at 132 pounds and Evan Evans at 220 pounds. Taking fifth were Andrew Perry at 152 pounds and Tanner Loy at 175 pounds.
