Harness Racing at Cumberland County Fair Thursday

GREENUP -- There will be one day of harness racing at the Cumberland County Fair Thursday and one day of thoroughbred racing Satudray.

Thursday's harness racing card will have a 1:30 p.m. post time. There will be nine races starting with the Illnii 2-Year-Old Filly Pace. Following the opening race will be the Illini 2-Year-Old Colt Pace and the Illini 2-Year-Old FIlly Trot. Then it's the Illini 2-Year-Old Colt Trot, the Filly & Mare Pace, the Illini 3-Year-Old Trot, the Illini 3-Year-Old Filly Pace, the Illini 3-Year-Old Colt Pace and finishes out with the Non-winners $5,000 Lifetime Trot.

Post time for the thoroughbred races will be noon Saturday. The Illinois 2-year-old, 5 furlongs and 3-year-old, 5 furlongs races will not be held if there is no state funding. Following those, the Illinois Bred 4-year-old & up, 5 furlongs, Illinois Bred 4-year-old & up, 6 furlongs, Open 6 furlongs, Filly & Mare, 4 1/2 furlongs and Maiden, 5 furlongs.

There will be a mule race, pony race horse, pony horse 56" and under, a miniature pony buggy race and finish out with the Cumberland County Derby, 1 1/2 mile.
