Red Tide Takes First At Central Illinois Conference Championship

This foursome won the girls 15-18 freestyle relay and broke the team record.

The Effingham Red Tide took first place at the Central Illinois Swim Conference Championship July 22 qne finished the season undefeated. Team scores were Effingham 2,477, Sholem 2,132, Crystal Lake 1,821, Indian Acres 1,661, Charleston 1,399, Lincolnshire Fields 846, Shelbyville 299 and Tuscola 196.

The top six swimmers in each individual race qualified to swim at the All Star Swim Meet Saturday, August 5.

The relay team of Isabella Keller, Avery Aldrich, Allison Kroenlein and Kaylee Sparks broke the team record in the 100 Medley Relay and the 100 Freestyle Relay. Isabella Keller set the team record in the 50 Freestyle, Allie Wilhelms set the team record in the 50 Backstroke, Tyler Sparks set the team record in the 50 Freestyle, Juls Harden set the team record in the 50 Butterfly, Ian Copple set the team record in the 100 Breaststroke, the 200 Medley Relay team of Annika Koester, Emma Pitcher, Brooke Stuckemeyer and Paige Brown broke the team record, the 200 Freestyle Relay team of Annika Koester, Brooke Stuckemeyer, Nikki Lee and Paige Brown broke the team record and the 200 Medley Relay team of Austin Huebner, Ian Copple, Tyler Homann and Ben Pitcher broke the team record.
