Lucas Probst Takes First Place At Competition

Kaskaskia College students excelled at the Southern Illinois University Carbondale’s 19th Annual School of Accountancy Accounting Challenge held February 10.

The event, featuring tests of skills and knowledge for individuals and teams was attended by over 200 students from 21 area high schools and community colleges. This academic competition testing challenged students’ individual accounting knowledge and skills.  In the team competition, the students worked together to take on a surprise challenge.  
 
Kaskaskia College accounting students' Katrina Sledge of Centralia and Luca Probst of Teutopolis both took first place at the competition with both winning scholarships.
 
The students were accompanied to the competition by Ira Kaye Hickam, Coordinator for the Accounting Program.
