Millikin University Names Awards Recipients

DECATUR, Ill. -- Millikin University, in conjunction with the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW), announces its Jack Swartz Award Recipients and the CCIW Academic All-Conference team for fall 2016.

Millikin senior Timee McElroy (Mt, Zion, H.S.) and junior Meg Nowak (Carmel, Indiana, Guerin Catholic H.S.) were named the Jack Swartz Award winners for the Fall of 2016.

McElroy holds a near perfect grade point average in Physical Education and is a four year letter winner in Cross Country and Track and Field.  McElroy was honored with the Swartz Award in the Spring of 2016.

Nowak is a starter for the women’s soccer team majoring in Accounting.  Nowak was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District® Team for women’s soccer last fall.  Nowak has started all 16 games for the Big Blue scoring three goals.  In the classroom, Nowak maintained the highest grade point average of all Big Blue fall sport female athletes.

Each season the CCIW selects an Academic All-Conference Team.  To be recognized, the student-athlete must be enrolled as a full-time student; must have earned a letter during the 2016 fall season; and must carry at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average.  The list below is the team members from Millikin for the fall 2016 season.
