Millikin University Names CCIW Academic All-Conference Teams

DECATUR, Ill. — Millikin University, in conjunction with the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW), announces its Jack Swartz Award Recipients and the CCIW Academic All-Conference team for fall 2015.

Senior Taylor Sanders (Marshall, H.S.) and junior Emily Sanders (Ballwin, Missouri, Parkway South H.S.) were selected as recipients of the Jack Swartz Award.  To be considered as a Swartz Award winner, student-athletes must carry at least a 3.50 grade point average and must have earn a letter in a their varsity sport.

Taylor Sanders is a starting wide receiver for the Big Blue football team majoring in Information Systems.  While excelling in the classroom, Sanders had 19 catches for 221 yards and three touchdowns.  This is the second straight year Sanders has earned the Jack Swartz Award for the fall semester.

Emily Sanders, a Communication major, is starting midfielder for the Big Blue women’s soccer team.  Sanders is a team leader and scored four goals and had three assists in 2015 while excelling in the classroom.

Each season the CCIW selects an Academic All-Conference Team.  To be recognized, the student-athlete must be enrolled as a full-time student; must have earned a letter during the 2015 fall season; and must carry at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average.  Area athletes on that list were:
