Hearts Wrestlers See Seasons End at Sectionals

The three Effingham High School wrestlers who had advanced to sectional competition saw their seasons come to an end over the weekend.

In 2A sectional action at Mahomet-Seymour, here are the results:

At 132 pounds, Brandon Marschewski won by decision 4-3 over Titus Anderson of Decatur MacArthur, but then lost 0-13 to Merik Fulton of Troy Triad. He bounced back with a pin at 4:32 over Paul Seitz of Rochester, but then lost by a pin at 5:22 to Noah Foreman of Riverton to end his season with a 2-2 record at Sectional.

At 145 pounds, Tyler Marschewski lost on a pin at 2:45 to Rio Beals of Champaign Central and lost 1-17 to James Harrell of East St. Louis.

At 182 pounds, Griffin Paige won by a pin at 2:58 over Kory Schaefer of Waterloo, but then lost by a 5-1 decision to Hunter Crowley of Mahomet-Seymour and then lost by a pin at 0:42 to Matt Baker of Decatur Eisenhower, ending a great senior season.
