The St. Anthony High School competitive cheer squad placed third in the Illinois Coaches Cheerleading Association championship held in Springfield on January 9.

The squad competed against 26 squads from across the state in the small varsity division. This was the highest place St Anthony has ever achieved for this event. Squads have to achieve a qualifying score of 78/100 to be able to attend the championship. St. Anthony has qualified the last four years. This helps the squad prepare for the IHSA state series with sectionals on January 30.
