The Effingham Central Business Group, an affiliate of the Effingham County Chamber of Commerce, invites you to attend the 3rd annual Taste of Freedom Street Festival Friday, June 19, from 5-8:30 p.m. Taste of Freedom is expected to attract more than 1,000 attendees over the course of the evening, raising funds for two local organizations: Helen Matthes Library and the Effingham Veteran's Memorial.
The festival is held in the heart of Effingham's downtown on Jefferson Avenue, which is transformed into an open-air market with vendor booths lining the sidewalks. The downtown streets are blocked off to vehicle traffic during the event. Effingham restaurants, boutiques, and community organizations set up outside booths and offer attendees food and/or refreshment samples for a nominal fee.
In addition to delicious food and refreshments, the festival features after hours shopping at downtown businesses, live music by the Jed Adam Band and Nashville recording artist Beth Beighey, a fitness obstacle course challenge, kids' activities, a live art display, and the Taste of Freedom Cruise-In and special interest car displays.
