Trick or Treat Night in Effingham has been set for Friday, October 31 from 6pm to 8pm. Residents are asked to leave porch lights on for trick-or-treaters during that time. Parents are encouraged to dress children safely, provide adult supervision, and examine all treats to ensure a safe and happy Halloween.
Neoga Trick or Treat will be held on Friday, October 31 from 6-8pm
Altamont Trick or Treat will be held on Friday, October 31 from 6-8pm
St. Elmo Trick or Treat will be held on Friday, October 31 from 6-8pm
Brownstown Trick or Treat will be held on Friday, October 31 from 5-7pm
Vandalia Trick or Treat will be held on Friday, October 31 from 6-8pm
Newton Trick or Treat will be held on Friday, October 31 from 6-8pm
Sigel Trick or Treat will be held on Friday, October 31 from 6-8pm
Edgewood/Mason Trick or Treat will be held on Friday, October 31 from 6-7:30pm
Dieterich Trick or Treat will be held on Friday, October 31 from 6-8pm
Beecher City Trick or Treat will be held on Friday, October 31 from 6:30-7:30pm
The Village of Strasburg's Trick or Treat Night will be held on Friday, October 31 from 6:00-8:00 P. M.
Also, you're invited to creep through the downtown this Friday Night from 6-8pm to collect Halloween treats from participating businesses. This event provides your family with a fun, safe and well lit environment so you can enjoy the Halloween experience. You will have a great time seeing hundreds of kids in their costumes, as the scary, the cute, the ugly and the creepy descend on Downtown Effingham. The Strasburg American Legion Auxiliary will be taking part in Strasburg's Trick or Treat night on Friday, October 31. The Auxiliary members will be in costume and ringing door bells, asking for items for our Veterans at the Danville VA. Community members may leave donated items near their door and labeled "Treats for Vets." Or items may be delivered to the Village Office on a Monday, Wednesday, or Thursday - and label them "Treats for Vets.
Items needed this year include URGENT NEEDS - Bath towels, body wash, snacks, Christmas Gift Bags. NEEDS - Boxer briefs, t-shirts and socks (any size - must be new), canvases, art supplies (no crayons) modge podge, models (cars, trucks, planes, ships) razors (twin blade at least), toothpaste, denture cleanser, body lotion, body wash, body powder, baby oil, hotel size everything, lip balm, sugar free candy, sugar free cookies, bite size candy bars, Reese peanut butter cups (full size) laundry soap (pods preferred), dryer sheets, gallon Ziploc baggies, baby wipes, envelopes. DO NOT NEED AT THIS TIME: combs, toothbrushes, deodorant (spray) greeting cards of any kind.
