Strasburg's Annual Halloween Celebration is slated for Saturday, October 25 at the Strasburg Community Building. Sponsored by the Strasburg Liberty American Legion Post #289 and American Legion Auxiliary Unit #289, the celebration includes a soup supper, performance by the Stewardson-Strasburg band, masked parade, cake walk, 50/50 drawing and merchants drawing.
The fun begins at 5:00 p. m. with the Auxiliary's soup supper. The auxiliary will be serving chili, chicken noodle soup, BBQ, hot dogs, polish sausage, chili dogs, homemade pie, soft drinks, tea, coffee and hot chocolate. The Stewardson-Strasburg band will march and play at 7:00 p. m. to kick off the masked parade, which will follow at approximately 7:30 p. m. Prizes will be awarded in the following categories: Storybook & Fairy Tales; TV & Movies; Clowns & Hobos; Monsters, Ghosts & Witches; Cowboys & Indians; Military; Animals; Miscellaneous; Under 3 years old; and Adults. Grand prize is $25. Following the masked parade is the famous cake walk sponsored by the American Legion Post. Last year over 70 cakes were donated by ladies in the community for the cake walk. At the conclusion of the cake walk the 50/50 drawing will be held along with the merchants drawing.
