Pioneer Days will be held at Cowden Friday, August 22, Saturday, August 23 and Sunday, August 24.

Saturday's events include:

8 a.m. -- Jim Edmunson Memorial 5K Walk & Run, one mile Fun Run. Register at Cowden Christian Church. For information, call 217-251-2536

10-11 a.m. -- Register for BBQ Cook-off. Judging at 2 p.m. For information, phone 217-783-2218

10 a.m. -- Big parade uptown with floats, band, clowns and more. Phone 217-620-5129

11 a.m.-2 p.m. -- Dinner served, chicken & noodles

Noon-1:30 p.m. -- Blend Acapella & more music

1 p.m. -- Children's games

2-4 p.m. -- Battle of the towns, Cowden, Herrick, Beecher City, Shelbyville

2-5 p.m. -- Bingo

4-8 p.m. -- Supper served, fried chicken & baked steak with fixins'

4:30-6 p.m. -- Hypnotist

5 p.m. -- Winner BBQ Cook-off announced

6 p.m. -- Demo Derby, Joe Thompson Arena, call 618-292-3062

6-8 p.m. -- Steve Seaton & Misdeamenor Band

6:30 p.m. -- Fun game for ages 1-4, bring basket or sack

7-10 p.m. -- Bingo

8-11 p.m. -- Captain Rat & The Blind Rivets
