Local Sports Calendar

Pioneer Days will be held at Cowden Friday, August 22, Saturday, August 23 and Sunday, August 24.

Friday's events include:

Noon-10 p.m. -- Sandwiches served

2:30-4 p.m. -- Senior Citizen's Program, crowning of Senior Queen, Drawing for senior citizen's prize

4:30-7:30 p.m. -- Supper served, fish, shrimp, chicken and sides, $9 for all you can eat

5 p.m. -- Baby Contest, contact Heather Summers at 217-821-5518

5-6 p.m. -- Scavenger Hunt, 5-8, 9-12 year old winners receive bicycles, 13-18 year-old winner gets $100 cash

5-8 p.m. -- Arthur Ford & Country Plus

6 p.m. -- Miss Pioneer Pageant, contact Jennifer Endsley at 217-646-0035

7 p.m. -- Wooten Rodeo, IPRA sanctioned & Central State sanctioned in the Joe Thompson Arena. General admission $10 adults, $5 kids ages 5-11

7-10 p.m. -- Bingo

11 p.m. -- Wes Wheeler & Battle Creek Band
