Local Sports Calendar

The Eighth Annual Cystic Fibrosis Golf Outing at Cardinal Golf Course has been scheduled for Saturday, August 23. Cost for entry is $75 which includes cart and green fees, food, beverages and music entertainment. The event begins at 1 p.m. with a shotgun start. Food and entertainment will follow featuring J. Christopher, known as "the world's most dangerous one man band."

Golfers will compete in foursomes. Other events include poker golf, split-the-pot, drive the green, basket bonanza and more. There are also sponsorships available including hole sponsors $75, golf cart $50, beverage cart $150, closest to pin (female) $100 , closest to pin (male) $100 and closest to pin (anybody) $100.

To enter, send the name of golfers along with a check to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and mail to Cheryl Jared at 11344 Thistlewood Lane, Effingham, IL 62401. If not able to attend, check out the website for donations:  http://wilson.cff.org/Golf.
