ACT Prep Class Information
Effingham High School

Effingham High School will be offering ACT Preparation Courses for juniors throughout the winter and spring leading up to the Prairie State Achievement Exam in April.  Several opportunities are available for students.  A free morning course will begin on January 8th and run until February 5th from 7:00-7:45 a.m.  This course is free of charge and will address the specific needs shown on the ACT practice test.  Results of this test were returned on December 12th for all junior students. There is no fee for this course and students do not have to sign up a head of time.

The second option is an evening ACT Prep course that meets from 5:30 to 7:30 on 12 different dates throughout February, March, and April.  Students can attend all sessions or just specific sessions.  There is a fee of $55 to offset teacher and book costs.  Registration will take place in Students Services and students need to register by January 10th.

EHS is offering an additional on-line opportunity through Better Test Scores.com. This is an on-line video series created by Jason Franklin that has helped students raise their scores by an average of 2-4 points.  Students interested can go to www.bettertestscores.com and review the specific details of the program.  EHS is serving as a pilot program this year.  The regular cost of the program is $375 but EHS students can receive the program for $150.00 or if registering prior to December 25th, students will receive an additional $25.00 discount for the program.

Please visit the EHS web-site or contact the Student Services office at 540-1152 for specific class dates or for additional information.  Due to limited space, these courses are only available to EHS students.
