     The Dieterich Events Committee has several ideas to help with your Christmas shopping this year. 

     Dieterich will be in the path of totality, or complete darkness, during the Total Solar Eclipse on the afternoon of Monday, April 8, 2024.  The celebration, which will last two days beginning on Sunday, April 7, will include musical entertainment from Flight Fifty, kids' activities, food, beverages, a presentation by an astronomer and meteorologist, and more. 

     To help fund the event, protective Eclipse viewing Glasses are available for $5 per pair or 5 pairs for $20.  To commemorate this once-in-a-lifetime event, wood-engraved Christmas ornaments can be purchased for $15 each. 

     Preparations are under way in Dieterich for another once-in-a-lifetime event... a ZIP CODE DAY Celebration on June 24, 2024, or 6-24-24.  One of the main events that day will be a drawing for a $62,424 raffle.  Only 1000 raffle tickets will be sold at a cost of $100 each.  The tickets, ornaments, and eclipse glasses, all make great stocking-stuffers and are available at Dieterich Village Hall, Wohltman-Aherin Agency, Dieterich Bank Dieterich Branch, and Wright's Furniture.  They will also be available this Sunday at the Small Town Christmas.
