Wonderland in Lights

Back and brighter than ever, Visit Effingham is thrilled to announce another year of Wonderland in Lights!  Each year, Community Park is transformed into a wintery spectacle.  Wonderland in Lights, a drive-through light display, features a variety of whimsical holiday scenes including reindeer flight school, Santa and his reindeer taking flight, a Nativity scene, a Gingerbread house, and so much more.

To help get you in the Christmas spirit, Visit Effingham, along with 97.9 XFM and KJ Country 102.3, bring you the option to tune into continuous Christmas music on 90.7 FM while you drive through the display.

The display officially opens on Thanksgiving night, November 23rd, and runs through the New Year.  Hours are from 5 to 9 p.m., Sunday through Thursday, and 5 to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday.

Community Park is located on East Temple Avenue in Effingham.

Santa visits Wonderland in Lights every Saturday from Thanksgiving through December 23rd to bring special presents to the children.

The Wonderland in Lights is free, but donations are appreciated.

For more information or to volunteer to spread Christmas cheer, please call 217-342-5310 or visit www.visiteffinghamil.com.

To extend the festivities, head to Light Up the Lawn in Downtown Effingham to view our larger-than-life, 3-D holiday light displays.  Drive by the glittering ‘Star,’ the ‘Royal Present,’ the ‘Heart of Christmas’ walk-thru ornament, ‘Santa’s Sleigh and His Reindeer,’ the walk-thru ‘Gingerbread House,' the hot cocoa mug, the Bear, and, the star of the show, our 34-foot, dazzling ‘Christmas Tree.’

Christmas in Effingham is a magical event… If holiday spirit is what you’re craving, we’ve got plenty to go around.  Come see for yourself!
