Local Sports Calendar

Chapter 16 of the Experimental Aircraft Association is hosting a Pancake and Sausage Breakfast this Saturday, June 26th from 8-11am. The breakfast is open to the public and will be held at the Shumway “Inner” national (sic) Airport.

The Airport is located 7 miles west of Effingham on Route 33 just ¼ mile west of the Shumway curve.  The address is 19260 N. 700th Street, Shumway, Illinois.  For those of you flying, our airport identifier is IL05.

If you all have missed the fly-ins as much as we have, it should be a big turnout.  We are expecting around 50 airplanes to fly in to the breakfast at Shumway so there should be lots of fun things to see and do for everyone. 

Food service will happen, rain or shine, so fly-in or drive-ins are welcome.

Donations from the breakfast support EAA projects including the Young Eagles Program which gave 53 kids a free airplane ride at the Effingham Airport two weeks ago. 

The runway looks great now but if a problem develops with the condition of the runway, we will post a notice the evening before the breakfast on our Facebook page:  Shumway Innernational Airport - IL05
