The members of St. Paul Blue Point Lutheran Church would like to invite you to their annual Mission Festival on Sunday, September 17, 2017. The speaker will be Dr. Alvin Schmidt. Dr. Schmidt was a professor at Concordia Theological Seminary, and recently retired from Illinois College in Jacksonville, Illinois and currently lives in St Louis, Missouri. He is the author of a number of books, including, How Christianity Changed the World, The Great Divide, and the latest Hallmarks of Lutheran Identity. He will be leading bible class at 8:30 AM, speaking on his book Hallmarks of Lutheran Identity,. Dr. Schmidt will be preaching for the service which begins at 9:30 AM. The 6th, 7th and 8th grade students from Altamont Lutheran Interparish School will be providing special music for the service. Following the Service the LYF will be hosting a Homemade Ice Cream Social. Serving will begin after the service until 1:00 PM. The menu will be Barbeque, baked beans, applesauce, chips, homemade ice cream and homemade desserts.
