Southeastern Illinois Community Foundation, in partnership with EJ Water Cooperative and Parkland College, is hosting an educational opportunity for area farmers and agricultural professionals to learn more about the use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) as it relates to crop management, yield, and field management.

Workshop Schedule:
- 12:00-12:15 p.m. -- Welcome -- Event Hosts
- 12:15 to 12:45 p.m. -- UAVs and Imagery -- Jennifer Fridgen and Amanda Briggs (Parkland College) Overview of agricultural applications using imagery and the role UAVs play with acquiring this data/information. Specific focuses will be placed on meeting workforce demands of the UAV industry and commercial UAV regulations. References will be given to new innovations impacting Parkland College’s Precision Agricultural Program and recent National Science Foundation funding to grow the program.
- 12:45 to 1:00 p.m. -- UAVs in Action -- Brett Haas (Crop Copter)Specific highlights will be given demonstrating Crop Copter’s work with UAVs producing new applications and return on investment opportunities for growers. Visual examples of both multi-spectral and naked eye imagery will be displayed and discussed. From entry level to high end, Crop Copter will discuss current and future options for both growers and commercial clients.
