The Neoga First Christian Church will host a building fundraising concert on Sept.17, featuring the Eagle's Wings Quartet, as part of its efforts to raise money to help pay for the new church addition. The concert will be held at the former Neoga Elementary School. It will consist of the quartet’s both southern and modern gospel sounds. Members of the group are made up of local talent Chris Long, Kirby Davis, Jim Whitaker and Jerry Burrell. Eagle's Wings has been performing for the past 7 years both locally and state wide. Joining the group at the concert will be special friend Scott Wattles of the Scott Wattles and the Blue Suede Crew Band. Wattles is known for his Elvis Presley sound and will share a few of his gospel classics. Also joining in the concert is another local talent Machelle Morgan. Morgan is a recent graduate of Neoga High School and will be attending Lincoln University studying Worship Ministry. She will be adding a contemporary flare to the evening by providing a couple numbers from that genre. All proceeds from the concert will go to the church's building project fund. Construction has already started and is planned to be completed by Easter. Tickets for the concert can be purchased at the church office located at 641 W. 6th Street, (former Neoga Elementary School) in Neoga or by calling or texting 217-273-2018 to order them. Tickets are $10. Dessert and drink will be served from 6-6:30 p.m. with the concert starting at 6:30 p.m.
