Local Sports Calendar

The Effingham County Soil and Water Conservation District and the Effingham County Farm Bureau are sponsoring a Cover Crops for Soil Health Seminar on July 13 at the Immaculate Conception Parish Hall located at 303 Section Street in Dieterich. The seminar will begin at 9:30 a.m.

Speakers include:
Lyndsey Ramsey, Illinois Farm Bureau
- Nutrient Reduction Program
John Pike, University of Illinois Extension
- Cover Crops and Soil Health
Local farmer panel
- Discuss beneficial nutrient loss methods

Lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m. followed by a planned field visit to Devin Aherin’s to view a soil pit. The seminar will adjourn at 2 p.m.
