For centuries, we’ve known that the health of the brain and the body are connected. But now, science is able to provide insights into how to optimize our physical and cognitive health as we age. Join us to learn about research in the areas of diet and nutrition, exercise, cognitive activity and social engagement, and use hands-on tools to help you incorporate these recommendations into a plan for healthy aging.

The presentation will be given by Elizabeth Hagemann of the Alzheimer’s Association on Wednesday, July 27th. A complementary brunch will be provided and served through a partnership between the Family Caregiver Resource Center and Douglas Health Care and Rehabilitation. Information about all three programs will be shared in addition to the scheduled program.

The doors of The LifeSpan Center (11021 E CR 800 N, Charleston) open at 8:30 with registration beginning at 9:00am. Brunch will be served at 9:30. The presentation will follow. This program is 1.5 hours, which includes time for questions and answers.

You must register for the event. There is no charge to attend. Caregivers of all ages are welcome. Please register by contacting us at (217) 639-5150. Seating is limited.

The Family Caregiver Resource Center is funded by the Federal Older Americans Act, the East Central Illinois Area Agency on Aging, the Illinois Department on Aging and client contributions.
