The 60th Annual Stewardson Lions Club Homecoming is scheduled for August 26 & 27, 2016 at the park on West Main St. The homecoming will feature food concessions, bingo, inflatable rides, a volley ball tournament, a husband calling contest, a slippery pig contest, a bunny chase, stage entertainment and a tractor pull. Activities at the park are free to the public.
In the park on Friday and Saturday evenings, the Lions club food stand will be open beginning at 5 p.m. The Stewardson Fire Dept. will be selling Ice Cream and Cake from 5:30 – 9. And there will be bounce houses in operation from 5-10. The Lions Club Bingo stand will be open from 7-11 p.m.
Friday night activities will begin with a slippery pig contest for ages 6-18 at 6:30, followed by a bunny chase for children 4-6. A husband/cow calling contest will begin following the bunny chase. Tress and the mixers will perform on the stage in the park from 7-10 p.m. All of these activities will take place in the village park.
On Saturday, kids’ games will be held at the ball park beginning at 4 p.m.
Saturday in the park there will be a smoke house demonstration sponsored by the Stewardson Fire Department from 5-9 p.m.
Saturday stage entertainment kicks off with Bad Daddies on stage from 7-9:30 p.m.
The night’s entertainment will conclude with the crowning of Miss Stewardson 2016. The coronation ceremony will begin approximately 10 p.m. Following the coronation will be the raffle drawings.
In addition to activities at the park, the annual Lions Club homecoming tractor pull will be held at the club’s activity site on the West edge of the village. Admission is just $3 for adults and kids 12 & under are free. Pulling starts at noon.
Also on Saturday at the tractor pull sight, the Lions will host a volleyball tournament beginning at 1 p.m.
