School Staff Training Program at HSHS St Anthony's

On Tuesday, August 16, HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital’s Clinical Nutrition Services is offering a free training program for area school staff members that have students with diabetes called, “Helping the Student with Diabetes Succeed in School.”  The training will be conducted from 1 to 4 p.m. in the hospital Auditorium – St. Anthony Room.

The training will be presented by Adrienne Jarrell, MS, RD, CDE, Clinical Dietitian at St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital. The topics she will cover include:

$1•         Management of Hypoglycemia and Hyperglycemia

$1•         Glucagon injections

$1•         Basic Carbohydrate Counting

$1•         Overview of Blood Sugar Monitoring

$1•         Physical Activity
