History will help inspire art June 18-19, when the Lincoln Log Cabin welcomes landscape painters looking for inspiration at this historic site on the Illinois prairie. 

Artists are welcome to bring their easels, brushes, drop cloth and canvas to capture scenes all around the site.

While some artists may choose to focus specifically on the landscape, all are welcome to incorporate living history interpreters or livestock at the site’s two historic farmsteads.

The site is operated by the Illinois Historic Preservation Agency. IHPA protects the state’s historic resources, which contribute to education, culture and the economy.
