EHS Girls, T-town, Altamont Boys Claim Golf Wins

Mattoon's Lauren Spain was medalist with a 44 but Effingham's squad was consistent overall to take a 208-210 girls golf victory at the Effingham Country Club Thursday.
Alex Brummer tallied a 45 followed by Morgan Wilson with a 46, Hope Collier had a 58 and Kaylee Tonn had a 59. Non-counting was Madison Weis with a 61.
After Spain's 44, Mattoon could garner only 50 plus as Taylor Beason had a 54, Katie Holsapple a 56 and Whitney Meaker a 56. Non-counting were Kaylee Nottmeyer 59 and Natalie Zimmer 61.
The Hearts are now 6-5 on the season.
At Effingham Country Club
Teutopolis played host to Casey-Westfield and Windsor in boys action at the Effingham Country Club and came out on top with a 175. The Warriors tallied a 187 and Windsor a 224.
Medalist was Neoga's lone golfer, Luke Baker with a 38. Scoring for the Wooden Shoes were Chad Zerrusen 40, Ryan Sandschafer 43, Christian Deters 45 and Justin Kowalski 47.
The Shoes are now 13-8 on the season and will be back in regional action Tuesday at the Effingham Country Club.

At Eagle Creek
Altamont handed Okaw Valley a 186-192 loss in Tuesday play. The Indians improved to 8-12 while Okaw Valley dropped to 11-9.
Altamont's Adam Mayhaus had a 41 to garner medalist honors. He was followed by Griffin Jackman 45, Logan Deadmond 49 and Cameron Jackman 51. Non-counting was Justin McGinnis 52.
Okaw Valley was led by Colton Sroke 44, Drew Fruchtl 46, Devon Still 50 and Paige Harlin 52. Non-counting scores were Jay Orris 53 and Logan Tipsword 54.
