St. A JV Golf Team Wins, T-town Boys Claim Victory

Effingham St. Anthony's junior varsity boys golf squad picked up a 185-196 victory over Cumberland Thursday at Bent Tree Golf Course.

Niko Dust was the medalist for the Bulldogs with a 44. Also scoring were Nate Schmidt 45, Gus Koester 48 and Mitchell Sager 48.

Austin Light and T.J. Thomas led Cumberland with a 46 each. Reilly Mathevi added a 51 and Nick Kimble a 53.

The varsity girls also played with three competing for St. Anthony and one for Cumberland.

The Teutopolis boys varsity squad defeated Casey-Westfield 175-193. Evan Schlink and Christian Deters were co-medalists for the Wooden Shoes with a 43 each. Also scoring were Kyle Brumleve 44 and Chad Zerrusen 45.

Caesy-Westfield's lowest round was a 45 by Brandon Wolfe.

In the girls meet, Mount Zion won with a 192 while Teutopolis and Mattoon tied with a 225 each. Medalist was Mount Zion's Ashley Miller with a 40. Teutopolis was led by Haley Giles with a 53. Also scoring were Ellie Ruholl 54, Casey Willenborg 58 and Katie Thoele 60.
