EHS Boys, Girls Capture Golf Victories

Effingham High School won a boys golf triangular at the Effingham Country Club Wednesday.

The Hearts tallied a 148 followed by Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg 167 and Sullivan 189.

Medalist was Effingham's Jude Traub with a 33. Also scoring for the Hearts were Max Seachrist 38, Leo Wyckoff 38 and Brody Boehm 39. Cannon Bockhorn also scored a 39 and Rayden Schneider had a 40. The Hearts are now 7-2 on the season.

Scoring for the Hatchets were Rylan Rincker with a 38, Ross McCormick 41, Jacob Vonderheide 42 and Hayden Porter 46. Non-counting scores were Andrew Petzing 53 and Jack Holland 59. Windsor/Stew-Stras has an 8-6 record.

Sullivan was led by Miles Monroe with a 43 followed by Camden Watkins 45, Cameron Clowe 50 and Drew Woolen 51. Others competing were Caden Saul 51 and Jett Kinder 56. Sullivan is 10-12 on the season.

Exhibition scores were: Jack Poe (EHS) 43, Kaden Field (EHS) 44, Blaze Owens (WSS) 52 and Patton Voris (WSS) 54.

EHS returns to action in an Apollo Conference matchip today at Taylorville.

The Hearts played host to Sullivan in the girls meet and claimed a 173-193 victory.

Effingham's Ella Tuman was medalist with a 41. Also scoring for the Hearts were MaKenna Mayhood 43, Natalie Armstrong 43 and Kylie Pryor 46.

Non-counting scores were Mya Harvey 46 and Allison Kroenlein 60. Others competing were Addi Ruiz 51, Ella Macklin 54, Hannah Buckman 57 and Ella McCord 68.
