EHS Girls Win Apollo Tourney, Golf Roundup

Effingham High School claimed the championship of the Apollo Conference Girls Golf Tournament Tuesday.

The Hearts tallied a 361 team total.

Mattoon's Blair Powers was medalist with a 79.

All-Conference were: Natalie Armstrong (Effingham) 86, Brooke Hartman (Mahomet-Seymour) 86, Ella Tuman (Effingham) 86, Kylie Pryor (Effingham) 89, Makenna Peterka (Mahomet-Seymour) 89, Alex Clayton (Charleston) 90 and Katie Hunter (Mahomet-Seymour) 92.

In a boys meet, Charleston was a 146-153 winner over Effingham.

The Hearts' Max Seachrist was medalist with a 34. Also scoring for the Hearts were Leo Wyckoff 38, Brody Boehm 40 and Rayden Schneider 41. Non-counting scores were Jude Traub and Cannon Bockhorn with a 43 each.

Scoring for the Trojans were Andrew Kuykendahl 35, Hudson Meister 36, Dylan Bell 37 and Alex Kuykendahl 38. Non-counters were Dylan Way 44 and Jaxson Epperson 54.

Exhibition were Jacy Poe 41, Kaden Field 44, Owen Nuxoll 51, Allyn Koester 53 and Cole Jones 76.

Charleston is 7-1 on the season while Effingham is 5-2. The Hearts are back in action today against Sullivan and Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg.
