St. Anthony Girls Take Win, Boys, Girls Golf Roundup

PANA -- Effingham St. Anthony High School captured a four-team girls golf meet at the Pana Country Club Thursday.

 

The Bulldogs tallied 165 followed by Lincolnwood 177, Taylorville 209 and Pana 213.

Brooklyn Phillips was medalist with a 35 for the Bulldogs. Also scoring were Addie Krouse 41, Abria Moberly 42 and Mia Schwing 43. Non-counting scores were Gianna Frisbie 47 and Tessa Ludwig 48.

The course was a par 35.

 

At St. Elmo

Altamont captured a boys golf meet over Shelbyville at the St. Elmo Golf Course Thursday.

The Indians tallied a 188 to Shelbyville's 195.

Match medalist was Shelbyville's Will Nohren with a 43.

Scoring for Altamont were Joel Bauer 46, Hayden Summers 47, Tyler Ruffner 47 and Alex Walker 48. Non-scoring were Kamryn Wolfert 51 and Charlie Goeckner 55.

In the girls meet, Altamont finished with a 234 score while Shelbyville had only two players.

Medalist was Altamont's Sophia Pearcy with a 52. Also scoring were Gabriella Weishaar 54, Cecilia Pearcy 61 and Emma Sphar 67.

 

At St. Anthony

Effingham St. Anthony hosted a junior varsity invitational.at Fore Way Golf Course Thursday.

The Bulldogs won with 139 followed by Mahomet-Seymour 150, Charleston 154, Salem 155, Effingham 158, Teutopolis 165 and Altamont 193. Sullivan did not have a team score.

Medalist was St. Anthony's Andrew Meyer with a 32. Jameson McAlaster finished third with a 34 and Alec Hakman was fourth with a 35. Effingham's Kaden Field was fifth with a 35.

Scoring for Teutopolis were Kade Pennington 37, Matthew Habing 39, Carter Mette 41 and Owen Kremer 43. Non-counters were Andy Lustig 44, Lane Ohnesorge 44, Gavin Althoff 45, Ben Sandschafer 45 and Blake Vahling 52.

T-town JV lost to Casey-Westfield varsity, 169-176.

Cole Gibson scored a 42 followed by Owen Heuerman 44, Will Lewis 44, Karson Zerrusen 46, Landon Huber 46, Drew Kirby 42, Camden Mette 46, Bo Kreke 50, Liam Collins 51, Mason Thompson 52, Ross Bloemer 55, Gavin Deters 61, Carter Kinkelaar 63 and Nick Rhodes 72.

 

At Effingham

In a junior varsity girls match at Cardinal Golf Course, Effingham was a 204-214 winner over Teutopolis.

Medalist was Effingham's Addi Ruiz with a 47. Also scoring for the Hearts were Allison Kroenlein 48, Kylie Pryor 48 and Ella Macklin 53. Non-counter was Hannah Bockman 56. Extra was May Harvey 47.

Scoring for Teutopolis were Margaret Wente 51, Madi Deters 53, Adrienne Koester 55 and Ellie Heone 55. Non-counters were Hildi Niemerg 59, Mallory Bloemer 59, Brooke Tipton 60, Lucy Bloemer 60, Alyssa Tipton 60 and Megan Blackwell 60.

Scoring for Altamont were Evan Elam 44, Owen Reardon 46, Kaiden Wolff 48 and  Cooper Hankins 55. Non-counting was Dayton Tabbert 67.

 

At Oblong

Newton captured a 167-173 victory over Oblong in boys golf action Thursday.

The Eagles' Michael Kennedy was medalist with a 37 followed by Gunner James and Grant Fulton fourth with a 43 each and Evan Johnsonn tied for sixth with a 44.

Oblong's Riley Blank was second with a 40, Brody Beabout third with a 43, Carson Mustgrave sixth with a 44 and Brock Noblitt ninth with a 47.

Also competing for Newton were Wade Wickham 45, Jack James 47 and Ajay McCann 55.

Also competing for Oblong was Elijah Beckes with a 47.

In girls action, Oblong had a 215 and Newton did not have enough players for a team score.

Newton's Haley Ochs was medalist with a 44 and Peyton Lindley had a 45.

Oblong's Daylen Beckes had a 47 followed by Emily Rachoy 49, Makenzie McDaniel 54, Lyla Bickers 65 and Keely Burton 67.
