Bulldogs Claim Third Place At Boys Golf Invitational

NORMAL -- Effingham St. Anthony High School claimed third place out of 23 teams at the Raider/Redbird Boys Golf Invitational Tuesday at Weibring Golf Course.

Pleasant Valley won the team title with a 288 total followed by University-High 293, St. Anthony 297, Mount Zion 299, Metamora 305, Mahomet-Seymour 306, Mattoon 306, Marmian 310, Wheaton Academy 311, St. Viator 312, East Peoria 317, Monticello 318, Byron 326, Peoria Notre Dame 327, Bloomington 332, Boylan 334, Limestone 334, Richwoods 338, Macomb 344, Assumption 345 Central 353, Hononehah 361 and Lincoln 363.

Medalist for the event was Marmion Academy's Regan Komen with a 68.

Scoring for St. Anthony were Jack Swingler 37-36 -- 73, Maddux Clark 39-34 -- 73, Dakota Flaig 38-37 -- 75 and Ryan Schmidt 41-35 -- 76. Non-counting scores were Joey B. Trupiano 39-41 -- 80 and Drake Brown 45-40 -- 85.
