St. A Wins Own Boys Golf Invitational, Effingham Second

Effingham St. Anthony claimed the championship of its own boys golf invitational Saturday at Indian Springs Golf Course.

The Bulldogs tallied a 301 followed by Effingham 307, Breese Central 320, Teutopolis 331, Effingham St. Anthony Two 337, Belleville Althoff Catholic 343, Richland County, Olney 349, Pleasant Plains 349, Hillsboro 358, Glen Carbon Father McGivney 370, Vandalia 395, Greenville 397, Paris 412, Robinson 414, Altamont 415 and Marshall 455.

Effingham's Jude Traub was medalist for the event with a 68 and made a hole-in-one on the Par 3, 150 yard No. 11 hole.

St. Anthony then took the next two spots as Dakota Flaig was second with a 74 and Maddux Clark third with a 74. Also scoring for the winning Bulldogs were Joey Trupiano seventh with a 76 and Jack Swingler 10th with a 77.

Teutopolis' Coen Pennington took fourth with a 74 while Anderson Thielen of Pleasant Plains finished out the top five with a 75.

Other scorers for Effingham's second-place finishers were Max Seachrist ninth with a 76, Rayden Schneider 15th with an 80 and Cannon Bockhorn 24th with an 83.

Scoring for the Wooden Shoes, along with Pennington, were Isaac Weber 14th with an 80, Hayden Tebbe 28th with an 85 and Brody Thoele 49th with a 92.

Scoring for Altamont were Hayden Summers 38th with a 91, Kaiden Wolff 50th with a 92, Kamryn Wolfert 86th with a 115 and Alex Walker 89th with a 117.
