The use of anchored strokes will be illegal on the PGA Tour starting in 2016. The Tour will adopt the rule change set forth by the U.S. Golf Association and The Royal and Ancient Golf Club. The PGA Tour wanted the proposed ban rescinded back in February, but commissioner Tim Finchem says the board has decided uniform rules are in the best interest of the sport. Four of the last seven major champions used anchored strokes, including Adam Scott at this year's Masters.
