St. A, EHS, T-town Girls Golfers Compete At State

Three area golfers competed at the Girls State Golf Tournament at Red Tail Run in Decatur Friday and Saturday.

Effingham St. Anthony's Addie Krouse shot an 81 with a 43 on the back and 38 on the front on Friday. She advanced to Saturday play.

"She had a great comeback and battled 20-plus mph winds, spitting rain and cold temps," said Coach Morgan Briggerman. "I am so proud of her."

The second day she shot an 81 again and ended up tied for 16th with a 162 total.

T-town's Brileigh Bloemer finished with a 188 total during the two days for 60th place.

Effingham's Makenna Mayhood shot a 101 on the opening day Friday and did not advance to the second day.
