EHS Golf Celebrates Senior Night With Win

Effingham High School seniors honored were, left to right, Ross Schafer, Evan Pryor, Preston Siner and Blayne Pals.

Effingham High School celebrated senior night in boys golf with a victory Wednesday.

The Hearts tallied 158 to Sullivan's 185 to improve to 9-4 on the season.

Max Seachrist and Jude Traub scored a 38 each as medalists. Also scoring for the Hearts were Evan Pryor 40 and Blayne Pals 42. Others competing were Ross Schaefer 49 and Preston Siner 66.

Scoring for Sullivan were Brett Bushue 39, Canaden Watkins 48, Drew Woolen 49 and Daniel Downs 49. Caden Saul had a 54 and Cameron Crowe a 58.

Exhibition players were Brody Boehm 39, Cannon Bockhorn 40, Leo Wyckoff 42, Rayden Schneider 46, Kaden Field 48 and Jack Poe 51.

"It was a great night to honor our seniors," said EHS Coach Jeff Schafer. "These guys, Evan Pryor, Blayne Pals, Ross Schaefer and Preston Siner, have made great strides since they have joined the program. Most importantly, they are great kids. They are going to do great things."

Scoring for Sullivan were Brett Bushue 39, Canaden Watkins 48, Drew Woolen 49 and Daniel Downs 49. Others were Caden Saul 54 and Cameron Crowe 58.

In girls action at the Effingham Country Club, the Hearts won 174-188 over Sullivan. The lone senior is Elena Niebrugge.

Elena Niebrugge picked up medalist honors with a 42. Also scoroing were Grace Harper 43, Ella Tuman 44 and Natalie Armstrong 45. Non-counters were Makenna Mayhood 49 and Mya Harvey 56. Extra players were Kylie Pryor 46, Ella Macklin 53, Allison Kroenlein 59, Cailin Ohnesorge 60 and Addi Ruiz 60.

Scoring for Sullivan were Shae Ellis 44, Hannah Righter 47, Ruby Haegen 48 and Kate Bushue 49. Non-counters were Ava Shriver 51, Devon Richardson 52 and Taylar Mercer 56.
