Bulldogs Second At Own Girls Invite, Boys Win Match Play

Mount Carmel won the Effingham St. Anthony Girls Golf Invitational at the Effingham Country Club Monday.

The Golden Aces won with 151 strokes followed by St. Anthony 178, Teutopolis 211 and Olney 241.

Co-medalists  were Mount Carmel's Emily Gottman and Miley Kennard with a 36 each. Also competing for the Golden Aces were Zeme Moore 39, Maria Kennard 40, Ava Brumagen 42 and Elyse Swanson 47.

St. Anthony's Addie Krouse finshed second overall with a 37 followed by Sydney Kibler fifth with 41, Mia Schwing 49, Gianna Frisbie 51, Brooklyn Phillips 51 and Nora Trupiano 53.

Teutopolis took third. Competing for the Shoes were Brileigh Bloemer 49, Halle Bushue 51, Olivia Wermert 55, Hildi Niemerg 56, Brook Thoele 58 and Sophia Martin 59.

Competing for Olney were Addalyn Runyon 57, Emma Hefferman 59, Mallory Richardson 60 and Savannah Ferguson 65.

Medalists were, left to right, Sydney Kibler (St. Anthony), Maria Kennard (Mount Carmel), Zeme Moore (Mount Carmel), Addison Krouse (St. Anthony), Emily Gottman (Mount Carmel) and Miley Kennard (Mount Carmel).

At Effingham

Effingham St. Anthony captured its own Team Match Play Monday at the Effingham Country Club.

The Bulldogs finished with 6 1/2 followed by Massac County 5 1/2, Anna-Jonesboro 4 1/2, Central Catholic 4, St. Anthony Two 4, Olney 3, Paris 3 and Teutopolis 1 1/2.
