Bulldogs Claim Varsity, JV Boys Golf Meets; Altamont Second At Pana

SALEM -- Effingham St. Anthony High School claimed first place in a three-team boys golf meet at the Salem Country Club Tuesday.

The Bulldogs' Dakota Flaig tallied 34 followed by Charlie Wegman 37, Lane Ludwig 38 and Preston Phillips 38. Ryan Schmidt also had a 38 and Jack Swingler finished with a 41.

Salem's Jaren Stroud was medalist with a 33 followed by Cale Harris 37, Logan Lockhart 41, Rhett Detering 42 and Landen Maxey 42.

Carlyle's golfers were Gannon Meyer 42, Adam Voss 47, Hayden Huels 48, Rhettick Steinkamp 48 and Jax Johnson 50.

The Bulldogs also claimed a junior varsity triangular hosted by Teutopolis at Cardinal Golf Course.

St. Anthony's Maddux Clark was medalist with a 34. Also scoring for the Bulldogs were Alec Hakman 36, Drake Brown 36 and Ethan Karolewicz 38. Non-counters were Luke Anderson 44 and Andrew Meyer 45.

Scoring for Teutopolis were Colin Habing 38, Noah Koester 42, Landyn Thoele 44 and Dylan O'Brien 44. Non-counters were Drew Hoene 45, Owen Kremer 45, Owen Heuermann 46, Collin Burke 48, Nolan Schumacher 48, Andy Lustig 48, Liam Collins 51, Cole Gibson 51, Tyler Pruemer 52 and Will Lewis 52.

Scoring for Effingham were Jack Poe 37, Leo Wyckoff 40, Kaden Field 41 and Blayne Pals 45. Ross Schaefer also had a 45 and Preston Siner had a 50.

 

At Pana

Altamont finished second in a three-team boys golf meet Tuesday.

Hillsboro won the meet with a 168 total as two of its players finished as co-medalists with a 39 each.

Altamont was second as Justin Kollmann and Gavin Flack shot a 45 each, Daniel McCammon a 46 and Charlie Goeckner a 52. Non-counters were Kaiden Wolff 45 and Alex Walker 54.

Pana finished third with a 214.

 

At Flora

North Clay/Clay City competed at the Clay Country Country Club Monday. Riley Poe had a 41, Alaina Worland 55, Kenneey Jones 56 and Jacob Arnold 61.
