Shoes Win Boys Golf Quad, EHS Girls Second At Mattoon

The Wooden Shoes were led by Coen Pennington and Hayden Tebbe, who earned co-medalist honors, with a 37 each. Hayden Jansen and Brody Thoele both scored with 43s. Non-counters were Ethan Thoele, and Kole Ohnesorge with a 44 each and Isaac Weber with a 45.

The Shoes are now 3-0 on the season.

In a junior varsity match at Flora, Flora was a 165-182 winner.

T-town's Tyler Pruemer and Drew Hoene had a 44 each while Noah Koester and Cole Gibson had a 47 each. Non-counters were Landyn Thoele 48, Collin Habing 50, Dylan O'Brien 55 and Collin Burke 61.

At Mattoon

Effingham competed in a girls quadrangular Monday.

Mattoon won the meet with a 190 followed by the Hearts with 199, Charleston with 221 and Champaign Central with 230.

Medalist for the event was Mattoon's Blair Powers with a 42.

Effingham was led by Ella Tuman with a 45, Elena Niebrugge with a 58, Makenna Maybrook with a 53 and Grace Harper with a 53. Non-counter was Natalie Armstrong with a 56.
