The St. Anthony Bulldogs have won the Boys 1A State Golf Championship, and Joey Trupiano of the Bulldogs won the Class 1A Individual Championship.
St. Anthony finished the first day with a 321 team total, a score Coach Phil Zaccari said they were not satisfied with, but a number that still left them in second place, nine shots behind Chicago Latin School.
A team chat following Friday's round seemed to provide a spark. St. Anthony finished with a 297 team score on Saturday, and that propelled them to a 618 two-day total and the state title by a five-stroke margin over Latin.
