EHS Girls Golf Team Third At Sectional, Headed To State

Effingham claimed third place and will be competing in the Class 1A State Tournament Friday and Saturday.

LINCOLN -- Effingham High School captured third place at the Class 1A Lincoln Girls Golf Sectional Monday to advance to the State Tournament along with Effingham St. Anthony's Addie Krouse.

Quincy Notre Dame won with a 360 followed by Mahomet-Seymour 373, Effingham 376, Mattoon 386, Rochester 396, Williamsville 398, Charleston 420, Mount Zion 426, Tuscola 429, Paris 433, Pittsfield 434 and PORTA 457.

Medalist was Mahomet-Seyrmour's Ainsley Winters with a 79. Second place went to St. Anthony's Addie Krouse who tallied an 81. Krouse will advance to State.

Effingham's top finisher was Marah Kirk who tied for sixth place with an 87. Also competing for the Hearts were Ella Tuman 93, Elena Niebrugge 97, Marissa Allie 99, Anna Hirtzel 104 and Ella Niebrugge 104.

Also competing for St. Anthony was Madison Brummer with a 105.

Teutopolis had two players competing, Halle Bushue with a 112 and Alaina Helmink with a 113.

EHS and St. Anthony's Krouse will now head to Redtail Run Golf Course in Decatur Friday and Saturday.
