EHS, St. A Girls Win In Golf, T-town Takes Boys Victory

Effingham High School played host to Salem in girls golf competition at the Effingham Country Club Tuesday and came out a winner, 183-205.

Scoring for the Hearts were medalist Ella Niebrugge 42, Marah Kirk 44, Marissa  Allie 48 and Elena Niebrugge 49.

Others competing were Ella Tuman 50, Anna Hirtzel 51, MaKenna Mayhood 49, Grace Harper 50, Natalie Armstrong 52, Ella Macklin 58 and Emilie Vincent 67.

Salem was led by Alyssa Paul 44, Jaryn Haarmann 46, Mack Mann 50 and Kiley Vieira 65. Non-counter was Annalise Aaron 68.

 

At Champaign

Effingham St. Anthony tallied a 201-246 victory over Champaign St. Thomas More Tuesday.

Aiie Krouse was medalist with a 48 for the Bulldogs. Also scoring were Sydney Kibler 49, Mia Schwing 50 and Madison Brummer 54.

Leading St. Thomas More were Ashley Wells 53, Elle Klein 59, Madaline Lamontange and Eleanor Leerkamp with a 67 each. Non-counters were Elizabeth Stubbers and Kaitlynn Ballard with a 72 each.

 

At Effingham

Teutopolis fell to Charleston by a 212-217 count at the Effingham Country Club Tuesday.

Halle Bushue led the Wooden Shoes with a 51 followed by Brileigh Bloemer 53, Alaina Helnink 54 and Abigail Wortman 59. Non-counting scores were Mollie Koester 63, Margaret Wente 68, Josie Deters 70 and Madi Deters 89.

T-town drops to 5-9 on the season.

 

At Taylorville

Mount Zion won a triangular boys meet  over Effingham and Taylorville Tuesday.

The Braves tallied a 161 followed by Effingham 185 and Taylorville 229.

Leading Effingham were Colby Haynes with a 42, David Splechter 45 and Evan Pryor and Cannon Bockhorn with a 49 each. Others competing were Rayden Schneider 50 and Brody Boehm 51.

The Hearts are now 4-4 on the season.

 

At Teutopolis

Teutopolis moved its boys golf record to 14-4 on the season with a 178-237 win at Pana Tuesday.

Adam Lustig took medalist honors for the Wooden Shoes with a 40. Also scoring were Hayden Jansen 44, Ethan Thoele 46 and Brody Thoele 48. Non-counters were Gabe Schlink 49, Davin Worman 49, Kole Ohnesorge 52 and Dylan O'Brien 52.

The Shoes are back in action Thursday at Cardinal Golf Course against Casey-Westfield and Newton.
