St. Anthony captured the Mattoon Invitational.

MATTOON -- Effingham St. Anthony beat out 39 teams to win the Mattoon Boys Golf Invitational at Meadowview Golf Course and Mattoon Country Club Friday and Saturday.

The Bulldogs tallied a 302 on Friday as a team and finished with 311 Saturday for a 613 total. Vandalia's Connor McCall was medalist for the event with a 72-70 -- 142.

St. Anthony's Preston Phililps finished sixth at 76-74 -- 150. Also competing for the Bulldogs were Jonathan Willenborg 75-79 -- 154, Michael Martelli 75-79 -- 154, Joey Trupiano 78-79 -- 157 and Lane Ludwig 76-84 -- 160. Dakota Flaig and an 80-0 -- 80.

Competing for Effingham were Colby Haynes 85-84 -- 169, David Splechter 95-87 -- 182, Brody Boehm 100-88 -- 188, Rayden Schneider 100-96 -- 196, Cannon Bockhorn 98-100 -- 198 and Evan Pryor 105-93 -- 198.

Competing for Teutopolis were Ethan Thoele 83-84 -- 167, Adam Lustig 96-93 -- 189, Brody Thoele 92-97 -- 189, Gabe Schlink 95-97 -- 192, Hayden Jansen 100-97 -- 197 and Kole Ohnesorge 92-107 -- 199.
