EHS Boys, Girls Nab Golf Wins, CHS Beats T-town Boys; St. A JV Wins

Effingham High School picked up a girls golf triangular over Effingham St. Anthony and Mount Zion at the Effingham Country Club Tuesday.

Medalist was Effingham's Marah Kirk with a 37. Also scoring for the Hearts were Ella Niebrugge 41, Anna Hirtzel 44 and Elena Niebrugge 49. Non-counters were Marissa Allie 54 and Ella Tuman 60.

St. Anthony scorers were Addie Krouse 38, Maddie Brummer 48, Mia Schwing 54 and Sydney Kibler 54.

Scoring for Mount Zion were Emma Espinoza 45, Kennedy Highley 56, Gabby Daniels 57 and Avery Kyburz 59. Non-counter was Jillian Rockey 64.

Exhibition scores were Makenna Mayhood 51, Grace Harper 56, Natalie Armstrng 56, Ella Macklin 57 and Emilie Vincent 60.

 

At Effingham

The Effingham boys and Vandalia played to a 187-187 tie at the Effingham Country Club Tuesday but the Hearrts pulled out the win on a tie-breaking fifth score.

The Hearts were led by Rayden Schneider 46, Brody Boehm 46, Colby Haynes 47 and Evan Pryor 48. Cannon Bockhorn and Kaden Field had a 50 each for the fifth score. EHS is now 3-0 on the season.

Vandalia scorers were Conner McCall 36, Jonah Beesley 42, Colton Justice 54 and Owen Alfred 55. Non-counters were Will Calhoun 60 and Dylan Peters 64.

 

At Effingham

Charleston picked up a 197-205 win over Teutopolis at Cardinal Golf Course Tuesday.

Scoring for the Trojans were Brady 45, Himes 48, Merrill 48 and Karick 54.

Scoring for the Wooden Shoes were Colin Habing 50, Davin Worman 50, Owen Heuermann 52 and Dylan O'Brien 53. Non-counters were Mick Niebrugge 55, Isaac Thompson 57, Jason Kreke 60, Will Hewing 61, Colin Burke 62, Liem Collins 62 and Jackson Esker 68.

 

At Shelbyville

Effingham St. Anthony's junior varsity boys squad won over Okaw Valley and Shelbyville at Eagle Creek Tuesday.

The Bulldogs tallied 154 followed by Okaw Valley 200 and Shelbyville 204.

Scoring for St. Anthony were Coen Pennington 36, Alec Hakman 38, Charlie Wegman 39 and Ryan Schmidt 41. Also competing were Jack Swingler 41, Maddux Clark 45, Ethan Karolewicz 46 and Drake Brown 51.

Scoring for Okaw Valley were Tre Hall 42, Chase C. 49, Caine Brock 54 and Cannon B. 55. Non-counters were Grady Sparks 62, Parker S. 67, Carson Nixon 67, Chris Menard 78 and Erik Kaeling 200.

Scoring for Shelbyville were Hampton Petska 49, Drew Nohren 50, Carter Schrock 51 and Austin Adams 54. Non-counters were Zayne Hankins 55 and Jack Arthur 55.

Scoring for Shelbyville junior varsity were Jack McClain 67, Austin Greenwood 72 and Cade Mitchell 73.
